Tupac Shakur, also known as 2Pac, was an influential American rapper, actor, and activist, born on June 16, 1971, in East Harlem, New York City. He is widely regarded as one of the most significant figures in hip-hop history, known for his profound lyrics that addressed social issues, personal struggles, and the complexities of life in urban America.

Tupac began his music career in the early 1990s as a backup dancer and rapper with the group Digital Underground, contributing to their hit "Same Song." He released his debut solo album, 2Pacalypse Now, in 1991, which highlighted themes of racial inequality, police brutality, and poverty. His follow-up albums, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. (1993) and Me Against the World (1995), further established his reputation, with the latter debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart while he was incarcerated.

One of Tupac's most acclaimed albums, All Eyez on Me (1996), was released during his time with Death Row Records and featured hits like "California Love" and "How Do U Want It." His music was marked by its emotional depth, storytelling ability, and a blend of introspective and confrontational styles. Tupac was also known for his activism, using his platform to address issues affecting the African American community, including poverty and systemic racism.

Tupac's life was tumultuous, characterized by legal troubles, feuds with other artists (notably with The Notorious B.I.G.), and a highly publicized rivalry between East Coast and West Coast hip-hop scenes. On September 7, 1996, he was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas and died six days later at the age of 25.

His legacy continues to resonate today, with posthumous albums, documentaries, and films celebrating his life and impact. Tupac's contributions to music and culture have left an indelible mark, making him a symbol of resilience and a voice for the marginalized. He is remembered not only for his artistic brilliance but also for his enduring influence on hip-hop and social activism.
