Eric Clapton is a legendary British guitarist, singer, and songwriter, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential musicians in rock and blues history. Born on March 30, 1945, in Ripley, Surrey, England, Clapton's career spans over six decades, during which he has earned acclaim for his masterful guitar playing, distinctive voice, and contributions to various genres, particularly blues and rock.

Clapton first gained fame in the 1960s as a member of influential bands like the Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream, and Derek and the Dominos. His work with Cream, a pioneering rock supergroup, produced classic songs like "Sunshine of Your Love" and "White Room," showcasing his innovative guitar work and helping to shape the sound of rock music. With Derek and the Dominos, Clapton recorded the iconic album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs (1970), featuring the timeless hit "Layla," inspired by his unrequited love for Pattie Boyd, who was then married to his friend George Harrison.

As a solo artist, Clapton continued to evolve, blending blues, rock, and pop elements in his music.
