Motorhead was a British rock band formed in 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, guitarist Larry Wallis, and drummer Lucas Fox. They are often regarded as pioneers of the heavy metal and speed metal genres, known for their fast-paced, aggressive music, and Lemmy's gravelly vocals.

The band's classic line-up featured Lemmy on vocals and bass, "Fast" Eddie Clarke on guitar, and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor on drums. Their music was characterized by its raw energy, loudness, and straightforward approach, with iconic songs like "Ace of Spades," "Overkill," and "Bomber."

Motorhead gained a cult following in the late 1970s and early 1980s, becoming known for their intense live performances and rebellious attitude. Despite never achieving mainstream commercial success, they remained influential in the metal scene and inspired countless bands.

Throughout their career, Motorhead released over 20 studio albums and numerous live recordings and compilations. They maintained a relentless touring schedule until Lemmy's death in December 2015, after which the band disbanded.

Motorhead's legacy endures through their impact on heavy metal and hard rock music, with their music continuing to be celebrated by fans and musicians alike. Lemmy's distinctive voice, Clarke's blistering guitar solos, and Taylor's thunderous drumming solidified the band's place in rock history as one of the most iconic and influential acts of their time.
