TLC

TLC is an American girl group formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1990, renowned for their innovative blend of R&B, hip-hop, and pop music. The group originally consisted of members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Chilli (Rozonda Thomas). They gained prominence in the early 1990s with their debut album, Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip (1992), which featured hit singles like "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" and "Baby-Baby-Baby," establishing their unique sound and style.

TLC's second album, CrazySexyCool (1994), was a massive commercial success, selling over 11 million copies in the United States and earning them several Grammy Awards. This album included iconic tracks such as "Creep" and "Red Light Special," and showcased their ability to address themes of love, relationships, and empowerment with a mix of sass and vulnerability.

The group’s third album, FanMail (1999), further solidified their status as pop icons, featuring hits like "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty." FanMail received critical acclaim and multiple Grammy Awards, emphasizing their relevance and impact in the music industry. Throughout their career, TLC was known not only for their catchy songs but also for their bold fashion choices and socially conscious lyrics, tackling issues like self-esteem, female empowerment, and HIV awareness.

Tragically, the group faced significant challenges, including the untimely death of Lopes in a car accident in 2002. Despite this loss, T-Boz and Chilli continued to honour her legacy and the group's impact on music and culture. In 2017, TLC released their final self-titled album, showcasing their enduring sound and commitment to their fans.
